About Molly
Molly began playing the cello at age nine at the Santa Cruz Waldorf School in California, USA. She quickly developed a fascination with the instrument’s ability to communicate complex emotions with the pure beauty of its tone. Throughout her formative years, Molly trained under the late cello teacher Karen André, and in her high school’s orchestra.
Alongside her cello studies, Molly trained rigorously as a classical ballet dancer from age seven to nineteen. Both of these art forms informed and inspired each other, nourishing Molly’s understanding of musicality, interpretation, and the impact of music on the body.
At university, Molly continued to study under several different faculty cello teachers. As part of her degree, she created arts festivals that featured dance, cello duets, trios, and quartets, and spoken word poetry. After graduating in 2019, Molly began her cello teaching journey at the Swallowtail Waldorf School in Oregon, where she taught young students as they took up the study of their first stringed instruments.
From 2022-2025, Molly continued her own training under master cello teacher Nikki Patton. In June of 2025, Molly and her husband moved from the USA to Ireland to start a new chapter. They now reside happily in Westport, County Mayo.
